Journey Mortgages was recommended to me by a work friend, and I'm glad they did. We had a reasonably complex set of changes that had to happen when changing banks. A change from personal bank accounts to a family trust along with a business account was required. This was done whilst also changing insurance providers which created a few more challenges. Alex was very patient and understanding of the time we needed to get our end in order and was great at explaining how the process would allow us to end up where we needed to be. What does a Mortgage Adviser do?

A Mortgage Adviser is a financial specialist who works with you to understand your borrowing goals and assess your loan eligibility. Unlike a single bank, advisers have access to a wide array of loans from many lenders, so they can find the interest rates and loan terms that best fit your individual needs — with a more personalised service along the way.

Do you charge fees for home or investment loans?

No. When you secure a home or investment loan through us, you won't pay any additional fees or repayments. Advisers earn a commission from the lender for introducing new clients, and this doesn't affect your interest rate or any other terms of your loan.

Should I go for a fixed or variable rate?

Variable-rate home loans have interest rates that can change over time. They offer more flexibility — features like redraw facilities and extra repayments — but your repayment amount can move.

Fixed-rate home loans give you stable, predictable repayments for the fixed term, which makes budgeting easier, though they can lack some of the flexible features of variable loans. The right choice comes down to what matters most to you: flexibility or certainty. We'll help you weigh it up.
