From Canterbury to mortgage advice

Alex grew up in Canterbury and has spent his career in finance, starting with a Finance and Economics degree at the University of Canterbury before moving into banking and asset finance. After his employer was acquired by a real estate company, mortgage advising became a natural next step and it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. He genuinely loves what he does, and that shows in the way he works.

Why the name Journey

Journey Mortgages was named deliberately. Financial services can feel transactional, a one-off interaction where you get what you need and never hear from anyone again. Alex wanted something different.
